  • What is a NIF?

    The NIF (numero de identifição fiscal) is your taxpayer number in Portugal. 

    It is required for many processes, such as opening a bank account, renting accommodation, working in Portugal, etc.

  • How long does it take to get my NIF?

    You can expect to get it within 2-3 working days week by email with the official PDF from Finanças. You will receive the original one by post mail a few times after.

  • What's included in the price?

  • What address should I use to complete the form and send the receipt?

    For the attribution of the NIF, the finance system does not recognize an address in Portugal, unless the applicant lives legally in the country. Therefore, you must complete the form and send proof of residence from the country of origin or the country you live in, except Portugal.

  • Can I get a NIF number for my child using the same process?

    Yes, of course. If your child is under 18 years old, both parents will need to sign the power of attorney. This document will be sent with the form by email after completing the online purchase process.
